The Lower East Side Printshop offers 4,000 sq.
ft. of printmaking workspace in two studios and two workrooms.
The facility is located on the 6th Floor of an industrial building
facing West 37th Street in New York City. Both studios are filled with northern
light. They have concrete floors and 11 ft. ceilings. Passenger
elevators are available 24/7, and freight elevators are available
during regular business hours M-F, 8am-5pm. Most of the studio
furniture and equipment were purchased in spring 2005 or later.
ARTISTS STUDIO
The shared Artists Studio, with the adjacent etching/solvent
room and the darkroom, is accessible 24/7 for participating artists
and class students. Facilities are available for intaglio, relief,
monoprint, waterbased silkscreen techniques, photo and digital
processes, and other techniques that employ the tools at hand.
COLLABORATIONS STUDIO
The Collaborations Studio is accessible M-F 10am 6pm to
participating artists. Facilities are available for intaglio,
relief, monoprint, waterbased silkscreen, digital techniques,
photo and digital processes, and other techniques that employ the

ETCHING/SOLVENT ROOM
The solvent/etching room is accessible 24/7 to participating artists.
It has adjustable exhaust ventilation. Only ferric chloride solution
is used for etching.
DARKROOM
The darkroom is accessible 24/7 to participating artists. It has
adjustable exhaust ventilation.
