Water-based Monotype Workshop with Henry Rosenberg

Fee: $220 including materials and 8 hours of studio time
This weekend workshop will introduce students to the most unique technique in printmaking! Participants will learn how to combine painterly gestures with layering on-plate elements including textured materials, stencils, and cut paper drawings. Students will learn work in both additive and reductive forms of monotype printing on the press with non-toxic, water-soluble materials and a variety of mark making tools. No printmaking experience needed.
Henry David Rosenberg is an artist based in New York and Philadelphia with a background in Printmaking and Art History and Visual Culture. Through storytelling his practice acknowledges the absurdity, tragedy, and humor of the modern world. Rosenberg holds an MFA in Printmaking from Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Rosenberg has experience in both scholarly and technical sides of the print world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Drawing and Prints Department, the Lower East Side Printshop, and Marginal Editions.
