Get ahead of the holidays and create unique handmade gifts (or keepsakes for yourself) in this special collaboration between Scratch Ceramics and the Lower East Side Printshop! Led by LESP's very own master printer, this beginner-friendly workshop introduces participants to the exciting intersection of screenprinting and ceramics.
Students will be guided through the traditional screen printing process and create their own screens to print underglaze decals, which will then be transferred onto pre-fired (bisque) ceramic pieces. By the end of the workshop, students will have completed one 8" × 8" ceramic plate and one 6" × 6" ceramic tile to take home. The printed ceramics pieces will be clear glazed and kiln-fired after class, then ready for pickup approximately two weeks later.
