Kiki Smith

Kiki Smith, Untitled (1998), an etching with aquatint in edition of 20 plus nine artist's proofs.  The print measures 14-5/8x21-3/4 in. image and 20x26-1/4 in. paper and was printed on Rives Lightweight white paper by Dusica Kirjakovic at Lower East Side Printshop, Inc. in New York City.  Drawn from the specimen, the animals float in a space outside their environment, no longer connected to their natural landscape.  With its subtle hues and delicate but dense drawing, the print glows with warmth and sensation of intimacy.  With her trademark generosity, Smith created this captivating etching to benefit the Lower East Side Printshop in honor of its 30^th Anniversary.
